about

Toussaint Morrison would like you to believe he’s a super-villain/superhuman with an alias or two. In reality, he suffers from dissociative identity disorder. A man of many guises, he toured the country for the past decade as frontman of rock band, The Blend, and as live hip-hop trio Lazlo Supreme’s voice of force and urbanity. Morrison rode the coattails of both bands into the ground, fun-filled-debt-digging adventures, and morning after disasters. These musical meanders transformed into mission trips when Morrison recognized his time on the road as an opportunity to host workshops on race, class, ethnicity, and gender in middle schools, high schools, and colleges. We were about to give him a lil’ credit as a poet and a human, but the highest he has ever ranked in the national poetry slam is a lowly 11th, reminding us that he, too, is of flesh and blood.

Legions of avid ears overlook clinical diagnosis, humoring Mr. Morrison’s (alter)egos, Kid Fresh and Juice Williams, while recognizing his superfluid word craft to be his superpower. Still practicing jumping burned bridges, Toussaint Morrison finally began construction of his solo project with long lost ex-roommate and master of sound manipulation, Jake Wylie (Dr. Wylie). The two connected in the midst of Morrison’s 2nd college dropout. Now, using their talents for pure superficiality, Morrison’s villain is unapologetic about his diabolical hubris. Don’t let the maniacal laughter & confrontational cadence fool you – he’s potentially talking to himself, or growing another personality to balance the others. In an age-old combination of dj and emcee, Toussaint Morrison releases his first solo work via 12-tracks of mixtape mortar: Toussaint Morrison Is Not My Homeboy.

Reciting letters to his father from the afterlife, spitting in the eye of Tony Stark’s Civil War sparking superhuman registration act, and capturing the empty life on the road touring with hip-hop minded rock bands- Morrison pulls no punches in this bar fight, and finishes moving forward. This socially-defunct-emcee-and-dj duo pit to release an album in the Fall of 2011, but not before firing a slew of bonus tracks throughout the summer. Stay tuned…
